Data Consultant
Do you want to do more than just work with data, but primarily understand what an organization needs and advise on it? How do you ensure that catering companies prepare exactly enough meals without unnecessary waste? How do you optimize a logistics network so that trucks drive fewer kilometers? Or how do you help an organization become AI-ready with a solid data foundation? These are examples of challenges that you, as a Data Consultant at Incentro, can tackle.
Combining data with consultancy As a Data Consultant, you combine your knowledge of data with consultancy. You engage in conversations with clients and stakeholders, map out their challenges and ambitions, and translate these into smart, scalable data solutions. You don't start with the question “Which technique are we going to use?”, but with “What problem are we trying to solve for the client?” You work on complex issues that go beyond just technology. In doing so, you connect business, data, and technology and work closely with our data engineers, data scientists, BI specialists, and cloud architects.
Perhaps this is your next step A Data Consultant at Incentro can have various backgrounds. We are not looking for one specific profile, but for someone who wants to combine data and technology with understanding organizations and people. Perhaps you currently work as a Data Engineer, BI Developer, ETL Developer, Data Analyst, Analytics Engineer, or Software Developer and want to provide more advice and sit at the table with the business alongside the technology. Or you are already active as a Data Consultant, Business Intelligence Consultant, or Analytics Consultant, but are looking for more technical depth. Even if your background lies somewhere between these roles, we would love to talk to you. Your current expertise is the starting point from which you will further develop.
What will you do? As a Data Consultant, you are the connecting factor between business, data, and technology. Your activities include, among others:
analyzing business issues and translating them into data solutions;
gathering requirements and client needs;
advising on data, processes, and information provision;
contributing to data platforms, pipelines, and other data solutions;
involving clients in choices, progress, and results;
monitoring whether the solution actually contributes to the client's goal.
In doing so, you work for various organizations and get the chance to repeatedly sink your teeth into interesting and complex challenges.
From data to impact At Incentro, you work on issues where you can actually see the result. For example, we work on data-driven solutions for smarter management of energy networks and the optimization of logistics processes. The goal is always the same: not just building something technically well, but understanding which problem you are solving with it and actually creating value for the client.
Your technical foundation You don't need to master all the technology already. A solid technical foundation and the ambition to further develop yourself are more important. Within Data Solutions, we work with, among others:
Python & SQL
Snowflake & dbt
Spark & Airflow
Kubernetes
AWS, GCP & Azure
Terraform & AWS CDK
data platforms and ETL pipelines
machine learning & AI
We are looking for someone who understands how data and technology work, but is primarily curious about the challenges behind them.
You as a consultant Whatever your background, you get energy from data, people, and challenges. You are curious, ask good questions, and want to understand what is truly going on before you devise a solution. You can explain technical topics in an understandable way, switch easily between different stakeholders, and enjoy working for different organizations. You have:
at least 3 years of experience in a data-related role;
experience with, for example, Data Engineering, BI, Analytics, or Data Consultancy;
experience with Python and SQL;
experience with a cloud environment such as AWS, GCP, or Azure;
interest in the business issues behind data and technology;
good communication skills;
a curious and entrepreneurial attitude;
good command of the Dutch and English language.
Are you doubting whether you sufficiently meet this profile? No problem. We prefer to look at the big picture: what you bring, what you are curious about, and where you want to grow.
Your team You will become part of our Data Solutions cell, a close-knit group of about 40 data engineers, data scientists, BI specialists, and cloud architects. You work in project teams with different specialists, share knowledge, and always have colleagues to brainstorm with. From knowledge sessions and training to experimenting together with the latest developments in the field of data and AI. We are a young, entrepreneurial group in which you get plenty of room to develop yourself and try out new ideas. We also seek each other out outside of projects during drinks, sports activities, and other activities. Our culture revolves around Camaraderie, Boldness, Autonomy, and Mastery (CBAM). Read more about this on our culture page.
We also want to be at the forefront in the field of AI. Our own AI team develops solutions and experiments with new applications. This way, you don't just work with the technology of today, but together with colleagues, you also discover what is possible tomorrow.
