About the company

We're working with an established global business looking to appoint an experienced IT Disaster Recovery Consultant to design, implement and embed a robust IT Disaster Recovery (ITDR) capability across its technology environment.

Your tasks

This is a hands-on delivery role, working closely with Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Architecture and Governance teams to ensure critical IT services have practical, documented and tested recovery arrangements.

  • Assess the existing IT Disaster Recovery capability, identifying gaps, risks and areas for improvement.
  • Design and implement an ITDR framework, including recovery processes, standards and methodologies.
  • Define Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs), Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) and critical technology dependencies.
  • Develop practical recovery plans covering infrastructure, applications and identity services.
  • Establish recovery sequencing and arrangements for Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Ensure recovery plans address major infrastructure failures, cyber incidents and compromised environments.
  • Develop and coordinate IT Disaster Recovery testing and exercises.
  • Identify remediation activities and establish ongoing governance, reporting and maintenance processes.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and documentation to internal technology teams.

The Opportunity This is an opportunity to take ownership of a defined IT Disaster Recovery project within a global organisation.

The focus is on delivering a sustainable, documented and test-ready recovery capability, rather than producing theoretical strategies or documentation that never gets implemented.

Requirements

We need someone who has delivered IT Disaster Recovery frameworks within complex enterprise environments and can take ownership of the work from initial assessment through to implementation.

  • Proven experience delivering IT Disaster Recovery programmes or frameworks within large, complex organisations.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 22301, IT resilience, business continuity and cyber recovery.
  • Experience defining RTOs, RPOs, recovery dependencies and technical recovery strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure, particularly Active Directory and Entra ID.
  • Experience developing and testing recovery plans across enterprise IT environments.
  • Ability to engage with technical teams and senior stakeholders to drive delivery.
  • A hands-on approach, with the ability to work independently and deliver against tight timescales.
