Imperium Financial Recruitment is recruiting for a General Practice Accountant to join a specialist tax practice based in Altrincham.
This opportunity would suit an experienced practice accountant who enjoys preparing accounts, handling personal and corporation tax returns, and providing reliable support to partners. You will contribute to a broad range of client work, using your technical knowledge and attention to detail to deliver an accurate, responsive service.
Full-time and part-time applications are welcomed, with hybrid working available.
The role
Working closely with the partners, you will prepare accounts and tax returns, manage deadlines and help ensure clients receive a high-quality service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Preparing personal tax returns and supporting Self Assessment compliance.
- Preparing corporation tax computations and returns.
- Reviewing bookkeeping records, completing reconciliations and resolving queries.
- Liaising with clients to obtain information and explain accounts or tax-related matters.
- Supporting the partners with client queries, technical work and day-to-day portfolio requirements.
- Maintaining clear working papers and accurate client records.
- Managing your workload to meet accounts and tax filing deadlines.
- Liaising with HMRC where required.
- Identifying matters requiring further review or specialist advice and bringing them to the partners’ attention.
About you
You will be an organised and approachable accountant with a strong grounding in general practice work. You should bring:
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice.
- Experience preparing accounts for a range of business clients.
- A sound working knowledge of personal tax and corporation tax compliance.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate working papers.
- Confidence communicating with clients and colleagues.
- The ability to manage deadlines and work independently.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software.
- A practical, collaborative approach to supporting partners and delivering client work.
ACA, ACCA or AAT qualifications would be advantageous. Applications from candidates who are qualified by experience are also welcomed.
