Imperium Financial Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Finance Officer to join a busy finance team in Blackburn.
This is a varied, hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys keeping accounts accurate, solving queries and making sure financial operations run smoothly. You will contribute across day-to-day accounting, reporting and month-end activities, giving you the opportunity to put your experience to good use.
Previous experience using Sage is essential.
Your role
You will take responsibility for key accounting activities, ensuring records are reliable, payments are timely and management has accurate financial information.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing supplier invoices and managing accounts payable.
- Ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time.
- Maintaining up-to-date financial records using Sage 50 .
- Completing bank and ledger reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Assisting with financial reports, budgets and forecasts.
- Supporting month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Maintaining clear supporting documentation and following financial controls.
- Providing records and information for audits.
- Identifying practical improvements to everyday finance processes.
What you will bring
Previous experience in a finance, accounts or bookkeeping role. Proven Sage experience , ideally including Sage 50. A good understanding of accounts payable and general ledger processes. Strong reconciliation skills and excellent attention to detail. The ability to organise your workload and meet deadlines. A proactive approach to resolving queries and completing tasks. Confidence working independently and communicating with colleagues and suppliers. A relevant accounting or finance qualification would be advantageous, although practical experience is highly valued.
