You will serve as an ASSISTANT INSPECTOR GENERAL in the Office of the Inspector General (IG) of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.

Major duties

  • You will be responsible for development of inspection plans, pre-inspection planning and analysis, conduct of the on-site inspections, and review of the findings.
  • You will review and analyze policies, methods, systems, procedures, and results pertaining to efficiency, economy of operation, and state of discipline and morale.
  • You will plan, coordinate, and conduct administrative investigations and inquiries into allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, mismanagement, whistleblower reprisal and other violations of law, regulations or policy deemed appropriate.
  • You will manage the inspector general Theater Security Cooperation Program.
  • You will develop activities to address specific needs of countries in the AOR to improve their inspections, investigations, and complaint resolution capabilities.
  • You will manage the work of the Inspections and Outreach team and members of inspection teams.
  • You will provide oversight to the Inspections and Outreach team, review work accomplished and evaluate performance.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Applying comprehensive knowledge of investigative techniques and inspection methodologies to plan, coordinate, and conduct complex inquiries into allegations of fraud, waste, and abuse: 2. Analyzing policies, methods, and procedures to identify systemic deficiencies, developing concrete recommendations for corrective actions, and providing guidance to senior leadership on implementation; 3. Leading inspection and investigation teams by providing technical oversight, assigning work, and evaluating performance to ensure findings are factually supported and logically presented; AND 4. Communicating, briefing, and negotiating with senior leadership, including General and Flag Officers, to present sensitive or controversial findings and facilitate the implementation of corrective actions.
