You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT/ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER at the NATIONAL MUSUEM OF THE AMERICAN SAILOR of GREAT LAKES NAVAL MUSEUM.

Major duties

  • You will support the Museum Director in the management and execution of the museum's financial program.
  • You will assist the Museum Director with the implementation of human resources policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • You will manage day-to-day administrative functions within the museum to include scheduling deliveries, overseeing official mail and package distribution, and addressing phone calls and visitors.
  • You will serve as a Contract Officer Representative for the museum and conduct analytical support service reviews of all contract work and proposals.
  • You will manage trainings and work closely with supervisors to identify staff training needs.

Qualifications

GS-09 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Supporting the museum's mission by performing budget analysis, contract management, human resources management, and administrative functions; 2) Executing policies, developing procedures, preparing recommendations, reports, and presentations, and performing administrative work that supports museum operations and promotes understanding of U.S. naval history and the Enlisted Sailor's role within it; 3) Managing the museum's financial program by coordinating with the NHHC Navy Museums Division and NHHC Comptroller's Office to administer budget policies, control funds, monitor spending, and develop short- and long-term budget data and justifications; 4) Serving as the Government Purchase Card holder, making authorized purchases, and establishing procedures for financial deadlines, progress reports, and administrative functions; and 5) Overseeing the day-to-day administrative operations, including official mail and deliveries, visitor and telephone support, correspondence management and archiving, meeting scheduling, and preparation of briefings and recurring resource reports. GS-07 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Supporting the museum's mission by assisting with budget analysis, contract management, human resources management, and administrative functions; 2) Assisting with reviewing policies, developing procedures, and preparing recommendations, reports, and presentations; 3) Serving as a Government Purchase Card holder by making authorized purchases and assisting with procedures for financial deadlines, progress reports, and administrative functions; and 4) Participating in day-to-day administrative operations, including official mail and deliveries, visitor and telephone support, correspondence management and archiving, meeting scheduling, and preparation of briefings and recurring resource reports.
