Research Analyst

The Research Analyst will generate investment ideas across both equities and fixed income within their assigned area of market coverage, and communicate these ideas to the investing public and internal stakeholders through original research articles, house views, and presentations.

This is a cross-asset role: analysts are expected to build and extend coverage across both asset classes over time, rather than remaining confined to a single one.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct fundamental research within an assigned area of coverage — by sector, issuer, and/or geography — spanning both equities and fixed income, using financial statements, company filings, published research, and other public sources.
• Generate high-conviction investment ideas across stocks, bonds, unit trusts, and ETFs, and contribute to a comprehensive range of active and passive product recommendations.
• Communicate ideas through original research articles, house views, and seminar presentations, to both the investing public and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain regular issuer coverage while extending into the corresponding equity or credit exposure of the same names where relevant.
• Contribute to portfolio decision-making discussions within the team's disciplined investment process.
• Undertake additional ad-hoc duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (Accountancy, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or related).
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to read and interpret financial statements; exposure to both equity valuation methodologies and fixed income analysis (credit assessment, duration/spread concepts) is a strong plus — candidates with depth in one and genuine willingness to build the other are encouraged to apply.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English, with strong storytelling ability — able to distil complex, cross-asset information into a clear, investable thesis for a retail and semi-professional audience.
• Comfort working with AI-assisted research tools as part of day-to-day workflow.
• Demonstrated interest in and passion for financial markets broadly, rather than a single asset class.
• Able to multi-task and manage multiple concurrent deadlines across coverage areas.
• At least one year of investment research experience preferred; fresh graduates with strong aptitude and a genuine interest in developing cross-asset capability are welcome to apply.
• Proficiency in an additional language (e.g. Mandarin, Bahasa Melayu) or familiarity with Islamic finance principles will be viewed favourably.
