IT-Planet - Data Architect

Our first priority is the conceptual model. We are looking for someone who can

• contribute to the development of our business analysis — which has been initiated but is still in an early stage — and can translate this into a common conceptual model, adding new elements where necessary
• can translate our business processes, requirements, and reporting needs into that model — establishing entities, relationships, attributes, and agreed business definitions, determining which data structures are actually shared by all business units, and documenting where they legitimately differ
• establishes the standards and principles for data modeling, as well as the associated governance processes
• defines the route from conceptual to logical and physical modeling, establishes the canonical data model with which our future core solutions will be integrated, and determines the resulting requirements for the database and data architecture
• validates the model with both business and technical stakeholders
• guides our internal team throughout the entire process, so that the approach remains with us after the assignment is completed
• Extensive experience as a data modeler / data architect, with a focus on conceptual and logical data modeling
• Experience in establishing standards for data modeling and governance practices
• Experience in guiding data models through the logical and physical implementation phases
• Experience in translating data models into technical development and working closely with development teams
• Comfortable working in international environments with multiple stakeholders
• Experience working with small internal teams who possess sound knowledge of the business and data, but have limited expertise in modeling
• Experience within Microsoft-oriented environments, including Microsoft Fabric and MySQL
• Knowledge of Oracle, particularly regarding legacy systems
• Experience with Microsoft Purview for data discovery and metadata management
• Fluent in English
