Senior UX Designer (m/f/d)

What awaits you

Do you want to not only implement User Experience but take holistic responsibility for it? At iba, you will take technical responsibility for UX across our entire product portfolio of hardware and software. You will define how UX works at our company: from research and testing processes to the central design system and the anchoring of user-centered methods in our agile teams. At the same time, you will remain hands-on and personally design the interfaces of our software products, which are used daily by specialist users in machine, industrial, and energy plants worldwide. AI is an integral part of your way of working: You use methods such as synthetic personas for hypothesis formation and generative prototypes for rapid validation to move from idea to tested design in less time, and you will establish this way of working sustainably within our company.

In this newly created role, you will have the opportunity to sustainably anchor UX within the company and significantly shape future product development.

Your tasks

• Technical responsibility for the topic of UX at iba: You will develop our UX strategy, establish processes and standards, and drive the topic forward company-wide
• Building and further developing user-centered design processes across all product teams (User Research, Usability Tests, Design Reviews)
• Integration of AI into the design process: synthetic personas, AI-supported prototype generation, as well as evaluation and introduction of new AI design tools
• Hands-on conception and design of user interfaces (Web and Desktop) including icons, interactions, and states
• Preparation and visualization of complex measurement data for different specialist user groups
• Design and further development of the interfaces through which our hardware components are configured and the captured measurement data is displayed
• Responsibility for the central UI/UX design system in Figma, including governance, design guidelines, components, and interaction patterns
• Close cooperation with Product Management, Product Owners, and Development; advising teams on all UX questions
• Standardization and implementation of UI components in the code repository together with Development

Your profile

• Completed studies in the field of UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Media Design, Computer Science, or a comparable qualification
• Experience in building or significantly developing UX as a topic within an organization (technical leadership, subject responsibility, or a comparable role)
• Experience with AI-supported methods and tools in the design process (e.g., synthetic personas, generative prototypes, AI features in Figma or comparable tools) and the desire to further develop this way of working
• Very good knowledge of Figma, including the creation of structured libraries (Variants, Auto Layout, Styles, Design Tokens)
• Confident stakeholder management and the ability to derive design decisions based on data and present them convincingly
• Advantageous: Basic understanding of frontend technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, Angular, or React)
• Very good written and spoken English skills; good German skills are an advantage
