Senior EHS Officer

Job Purpose

The Senior EHS Officer is responsible for the day-to-day implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of IAQ Utility's Environment, Health & Safety requirements across semiconductor and advanced manufacturing EPCM projects.

The Senior EHS Officer will conduct site inspections, review risk assessments and work methods, monitor Permit-to-Work(PTW) activities, verify high-risk work controls, support incident investigations, coordinate EHS training and ensure contractors and subcontractors comply with IAQ Utility, client and applicable regulatory requirements.

The role requires practical understanding of semiconductor construction environments and the hazards associated with of the following Process Critical Systems:

• Ultra Pure Water (UPW)
• Wastewater Treatment (WWT)
• Chemical & Slurry
• Specialty Gas
• Process Exhaust

Key Responsibilities

• Implement IAQ Utility's Corporate and Project EHS requirements at site level.
• Support the Lead EHS Manager in implementing the Project EHS Plan.
• Maintain regular field presence across assigned work areas.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor EHS compliance.
• Identify unsafe conditions and behaviours and ensure appropriate corrective actions
• Review Risk Assessments, JSA/JHA and Method Statements before work begins.
• Verify that hazards and controls reflect actual field conditions.
• Monitor compliance with PTW requirements for activities
• Monitor implementation of LOTO procedures.
• Inspect work-at-height activities.
• Verify fall-prevention and fall-protection systems.
• Monitor lifting activities.
• Verify confined-space permits.
• Monitor hot-work activities.
• Support implementation of controls associated with semiconductor chemical and specialty gas systems.
• Monitor electrical work activities.
• Conduct planned and unplanned site inspections.
• Document findings clearly and objectively.
• Ensure incidents and near misses are promptly reported.
• Secure incident areas where required.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Education

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Management, Engineering, Science or related discipline.
• Relevant recognised EHS professional qualifications are highly desirable.
• Relevant certifications may include:
• NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent
• IOSH qualification
• ISO 45001 Internal / Lead Auditor
• ISO 14001 Internal / Lead Auditor
• Construction safety certification
• Working-at-Height certification
• Confined-Space Safety certification
• Lifting Safety certification
• Incident Investigation / Root Cause Analysis training
• Relevant country-specific EHS registration or certification

Experience

• Minimum 6–10 years of EHS experience within construction, EPC, EPCM, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, data centre, electronics or advanced manufacturing environments.
• Minimum 3–5 years of practical site EHS experience on major construction or industrial projects.
• Semiconductor or high-technology facility project experience is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting Base Build and/or Tool Hook-Up activities is preferred.
• Practical experience managing high-risk construction activities.
• Experience with PTW, risk assessments, JSA/JHA, LOTO and construction safety inspections.
• Experience coordinating multiple contractors and subcontractors.
• Experience supporting incident investigations and corrective-action management.
• Exposure to testing and commissioning activities is advantageous.
• Experience working within multinational client/project environments is preferred.
• Regional or international project exposure is advantageous but not mandatory.
