For our client, a leading technology company in the defense and security industry in Penzberg, we are looking for an Export Control Officer (m/f/d).

What awaits you?

• Responsible for the internal as well as cross-location assurance of compliance with export control law regulations (DE/EU/US), the Kriegswaffenkontrollgesetz (KrWaffKontrG), and customs
• Clarification, advice, and assessment of licensing matters in relation to export control
• Responsible for license management, including application, administration, deadline tracking, amendment, extension, and monitoring of conditions for licenses and other official notices
• Responsible for the assessment, release, and documentation of all business transactions in relation to export control law (DE/EU/US), the KrWaffKontrG, and customs
• Cooperation and ensuring communication with all internal and external bodies involved in the licensing process, including the competent licensing authorities (e.g., BAFA, BMWE, BMVg etc.)
• Preparation, support, and follow-up of authority audits (e.g., foreign trade audits)
• Maintaining the Kriegswaffenbuch and monitoring inventory and proof records as well as the proper storage of war weapons
• Monitoring export control-relevant legislation for updates and, if necessary, implementation of changed specifications
• Further development and continuous optimization of existing processes, including the creation of guidelines and operating instructions
• Conception and implementation of target-group-oriented training and other awareness-raising measures
• Reporting to the Export Manager

What do you bring with you?

• Completed studies in the field of foreign trade or customs law or comparable
• Relevant specialist knowledge in the field of national and international export regulations, including Kriegswaffenkontrollgesetz and customs law
• Many years of experience in the field of defense technology and good product knowledge
• Goal-oriented and independent way of working as well as assertiveness
• Experience in structuring processes
• Quick comprehension and analytical thinking
• Negotiation and communication skills
• Business fluent English skills (spoken and written)
• Willingness to travel
