Facilities Maintenance Technician
The Facilities Maintenance Technician provides on-site support for minor repair and maintenance works across the school. The role helps to ensure that day-to-day maintenance requests are attended to promptly and efficiently, contributing to a safe, functional and well-maintained environment. Responsibilities:
- Minor Repair & Maintenance
Carry out minor repairs and replacement of locks, handles, hinges, door hardware, fixtures and fittings.
Perform minor carpentry, plumbing, painting, patching, touch-up and general building repair works.
Carry out minor electrical works, including light bulb replacement, minor electrical repairs and rectification of electrical defects.
- Estate Maintenance Support
Attend to ad-hoc maintenance requests and minor rectification works across the school premises.
Conduct basic checks and identify maintenance issues, escalating more complex or specialised works where necessary.
Support the team in maintaining the cleanliness, functionality and condition of facilities.
- Tools & Work Records
Use common hand and power tools safely and appropriately.
Maintain proper records of maintenance works completed and materials used.
Adhere to workplace safety requirements and relevant maintenance procedures.
Requirements: Minimum NITEC/Higher NITEC or equivalent relevant technical qualification.
At least 2 years of relevant hands-on experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance or handyman services.
Practical skills in minor carpentry, plumbing, painting, fixtures and fittings, basic electrical-related maintenance and general building repairs.
Able to work independently and respond promptly to maintenance requests.
Good problem-solving and practical troubleshooting skills.
Able to use common hand and power tools safely.
Responsible, hands-on and service-oriented, with good attention to detail.
Able to maintain proper work records and documentation.
