Your tasks

Carry out hands-on yard work and guide a small team in daily recycling activities. Ensure materials are sorted, weighed, and stored correctly while maintaining a safe and organised yard.

• Actively carry out loading, unloading, sorting, weighing, and moving scrap metals.
• Operate a forklift to load, unload, and move materials safely.
• Identify and grade common ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
• Guide workers on daily tasks and check that work is completed properly.
• Check incoming and outgoing materials against weighing records.
• Maintain basic stock records and provide daily updates to the office.
• Coordinate loading and unloading with drivers.
• Operate basic recycling equipment after appropriate training and authorisation.
• Maintain good housekeeping, follow safety procedures, and report equipment faults promptly.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in recycling, scrapyard, or industrial operations.
• Must be able to operate a forklift and hold a valid forklift operator certification.
• Practical knowledge of common ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
• Must be willing and able to perform daily physical yard work.
• Able to guide a small team and follow instructions from management.
• Able to maintain basic stock records using Excel or company forms.
• Responsible, organised, and able to handle routine yard tasks independently.
