Data & BI Analyst (Databricks & Power BI)

We are looking for a Data & BI Analyst to join an Integrated Reporting project for a global organisation. The project is currently at pilot and Proof of Concept stage. Its goal is to bring together reporting logic from multiple existing systems and create a consistent foundation for reporting across the business.

Azure Databricks will be the main platform for consolidating and harmonising data, while Power BI will turn that data into reports and insights. The role is approximately 70% focused on Databricks and the data platform, and 30% on Power BI . It combines hands-on work with data and direct contact with business stakeholders.

You will be the dedicated specialist joining the initiative at this stage. You will work with senior colleagues and collaborate with BI developers, data engineers, IT teams and business users across regions. The team is expected to grow as the project develops.

You will help shape a reporting solution from its pilot stage, with a visible impact on how data is defined, prepared and used across a global organisation. You will work with an international team, solve real business challenges and have room to propose improvements as the initiative grows.

Daily tasks

• Gather reporting requirements from business stakeholders, clarify definitions and constructively challenge requests when a different approach would better meet the underlying need.
• Map data and reporting logic across multiple source systems and help define a common reporting layer.
• Work across the data flow: from ingestion and ETL/ELT, through transformations and curated datasets in Databricks, to semantic models and reports in Power BI.
• Collaborate with data engineers and BI developers on data models, transformation rules and solution design.
• Validate source and transformed data, reconcile calculations and investigate discrepancies between systems and reports.
• Check delivered solutions against agreed requirements and support testing, deployment and ongoing improvements.
• Document business definitions and key decisions, and help users adopt new reports and functionality.

Requirements

What we are looking for At least 3 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, data delivery or a similar role. Practical experience with Azure Databricks and SQL , including data transformation and combining information from multiple sources. Experience with Power BI reports or semantic models. A good understanding of ETL/ELT, data modelling, testing and data quality. The ability to translate business needs into clear requirements and work effectively with both business and technical teams. Confidence in asking questions, explaining findings and pushing back constructively. Strong written and spoken English. Experience with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Delta-based solutions or Finance reporting would be an advantage.
