Your tasks

Job duties

• continuously and preventively visits protected facilities and premises for the purpose of protecting the persons and property of HRT, according to the Fire Protection Plan, the Person and Property Protection Plan, and instructions on work and conduct of duty officers or orders from superiors
• regularly controls the operational correctness of the technical supervision system for fire protection
• periodically checks the functional correctness of alarm elements of the stable fire detection and extinguishing system as well as manual and portable fire extinguishers and fittings
• assesses fire hazards, determines and applies necessary protection measures, and stands guard in fire-prone areas during the execution of dangerous works
• stands guard at places where large numbers of people gather in facilities or during the filming of shows in studios
• checks compliance with smoking bans, the use of open flames, flammable liquids and explosive gases, pyrotechnic devices, and the application of other protection measures in HRT premises
• extinguishes initial fires, performs technical interventions, and informs the superior,
• maintains duty logs and registers of controls of the fire detection and extinguishing system according to regulations and professional rules
• participates in the rescue of persons and property in special threat circumstances
• participates in protection and rescue exercises according to the plan
• performs other related tasks as required by the job, i.e., the order of the superior

Job responsibilities

• for the safety of persons and property according to regulations in the field of fire protection, the Fire Protection Plan, and the Person and Property Protection Plan and instructions on work and conduct
• for acting in accordance with the House Rules and Security Measures Regulation
• for checking the correctness of the devices for which they are responsible
• for the accuracy and up-to-dateness of the records they maintain
• for preventive inspections of facilities, devices, and equipment for fire protection, extinguishing initial fires and technical interventions, for preserving traces at the scene of a harmful event for the purpose of determining the cause of occurrence

Requirements

Conditions that candidates must meet

• SSS – firefighter technician
• knowledge of one foreign language
• knowledge of working on a computer (and work applications)
• B category driver's license
• 1 year of work experience

Additional knowledge, qualities, skills, and abilities

• communication skills
• precision and thoroughness in work
• skill in working on complex devices under stress
• knowledge of the working technology of fire detection and extinguishing systems

Candidates must attach

• a hand-signed application for the competition containing: the candidate's first and last name, residential address, contact telephone, email address, and the name of the job position for which they are applying
• CV
• proof of citizenship (copy of the domicile certificate or a valid identity card or a valid passport)
• proof of acquired professional qualification (copy of the certificate). If it is a foreign certificate, the selected candidate must, until the moment of entering into employment, submit a certificate of recognition of the school qualification issued by the competent authority in the Republic of Croatia
• proof of knowledge of a foreign language (certificate from an educational institution or other appropriate proof such as a university certificate of a passed foreign language exam and/or a copy of the front page of the student ID with the first and last name and the page of the student ID where the foreign language is stated, or a copy of a class certificate with the passed subject...)
• proof of knowledge of the use of information systems (certificate from an educational institution and/or other appropriate proof such as a university certificate of a passed subject or a copy of the front page of the student ID with the first and last name and the page of the student ID where the IT knowledge is stated, or a copy of a class certificate with the passed subject.. )
• proof of work experience (certificate from a former employer showing that the candidate has worked or is working in corresponding jobs with a job description and stating the period in which the specified jobs were performed, a copy of the employment contract with a job description and stating the period in which the specified jobs were performed and/or are being performed, a copy of the decision on appointment if they worked and/or work in the civil service with a job description and stating the period in which the specified jobs were performed and/or are being performed, or other appropriate proof with a job description and stating the period in which the specified jobs were performed or are being performed; or a certificate or electronic record with data recorded in the HZMO master record if specific work experience is not stated)
• a copy of the driver's license

If the documentation proving professional qualification is in its original form in a foreign language, candidates must also attach a certified translation into Croatian by a court interpreter for the specific foreign language.

Personal statements, as well as a CV, are not accepted as proof of meeting formal requirements.

An application is considered complete if it contains all the data and attachments specified in the public competition.

A person who has not submitted a timely or complete application, or does not meet the formal requirements of the public competition, is not considered a candidate in the public competition process.

Candidates who have timely submitted a complete application and meet the requirements of the public competition will be called in due time to the further selection process where they will be informed in detail about the further stages of selection.

If a called candidate does not attend the selection process, it is considered that they have withdrawn their application for the competition.

Persons who, according to special regulations, exercise the right of preference in employment, must refer to that right in the application and attach the prescribed evidence of that status.

Candidates who refer to the right of preference in employment according to Article 102 of the Act on Croatian Defenders of the Homeland War and their family members (https://narodne-novine.nn.hr/clanci/sluzbeni/2021_07_84_1556.html), and candidates who refer to the right of preference in employment according to Article 48 of the Act on Civil Victims of the Homeland War (https://narodne-novine.nn.hr/clanci/sluzbeni/2021_07_84_1555.html), who at the time of submitting the application meet the conditions for exercising that right, are obliged to attach to the application for the public competition all evidence of meeting the requested conditions from the competition and evidence for exercising the right of preference in employment. Applications for the competition with evidence of meeting the requirements are to be submitted within 8 days from the day of publication of the competition, by mail to the address: Hrvatska radiotelevizija, RJ Ljudski potencijali (soba 152, B 30 ), Prisavlje 3, 10000 Zagreb with the note "Za natječaj Vatrogasac“.

Other

Probationary period: 4 months

Expressions used in this competition for natural persons in the masculine gender refer in the same way to persons of both male and female sex. Persons of both sexes may apply for the competition.
