Test Engineer (Optical & Semiconductor Equipment) | Up to $8,000 | West

Your tasks

• Conduct performance testing and reliability verification of R&D prototypes, including optical, electrical, motion accuracy and environmental adaptability testing.
• Develop test plans, establish test environments and validate key performance indicators for optoelectronic die testing equipment.
• Perform calibration and verification of critical parameters, including coupling accuracy, test repeatability, bit error rate and testing efficiency.
• Analyse test data, prepare technical reports, identify performance bottlenecks and design defects, and drive corrective actions and design improvements.
• Establish product testing specifications, develop automated test scripts and enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
• Support the Malaysia team in setting up mass production testing procedures and developing standardised test specifications and SOPs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Optoelectronic Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Measurement and Control Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in testing and verification of optical components or semiconductor equipment.
• Familiarity with optical communication testing instruments and statistical methods for test data analysis.
• Ability to independently develop test plans, design test cases and prepare technical documentation.
• Proficiency in Python or MATLAB scripting and experience in automated test system development would be an advantage.
• Hands-on experience in silicon photonic chip or optical module testing, as well as familiarity with CPO/OE die testing indicators and industry standards, would be advantageous.
• Good written and reading proficiency in English, with strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a systematic approach to problem-solving.
