  1. Job Purpose

The Senior HR Business Partner will provide strategic and operational HR support to the business, partnering with leaders and line managers to translate business priorities into effective people strategies. The role will have a strong focus on employee engagement, performance, talent management, employee relations and building a positive, high-performing workplace culture within the agroprocessing environment.

  1. Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a trusted HR partner to assigned business units, providing practical and timely HR advice and support.
  • Translate business strategy and operational priorities into effective people plans and HR interventions.
  • Develop, coordinate and monitor employee engagement initiatives that strengthen morale, collaboration, inclusion and retention.
  • Partner with managers on performance management, goal setting, coaching, capability development and succession planning.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning and retention initiatives in partnership with the HR team.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent and timely resolution of workplace issues.
  • Support implementation of HR policies, procedures, systems and best practices across the business.
  • Lead or support change management initiatives, helping employees and managers adapt to organisational and operational changes.
  • Analyse workforce data and HR metrics and provide insights to inform people-related and business decisions.
  • Support learning and development initiatives based on identified capability and business needs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, internal policies and industry HR practices.
  • Champion a safe, respectful, inclusive and productive work environment.
  • Prepare HR reports, dashboards and management updates as required.
  1. Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant professional qualification is an added advantage.
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, with exposure to an HR Business Partner, HR Generalist or similar strategic HR role.
  • Experience in agroprocessing, manufacturing, FMCG or another operationally intensive environment is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience designing or implementing employee engagement initiatives.
  • Good knowledge of performance management, employee relations, talent management and HR operations.
  • Sound understanding of Ugandan labour laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
