Job Summary
Design and develop electrical architectures and control systems for semiconductor process equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and driving innovative solutions for R&D and customer projects.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical architectures for semiconductor process equipment, including power distribution, control panels, field wiring, and electrical schematics to meet project requirements.
- Perform electrical load calculations, size components, design power distribution, and coordinate electrical protection to ensure system reliability and safety.
- Design motor control circuits, sensor and actuator interfaces, instrumentation, and electrical safety interlocks to support machine functionality.
- Select electrical components based on project needs, cost-effectiveness, reliability, and manufacturability to optimize performance and production.
- Develop innovative electrical solutions for new R&D projects, Customer Engineering Solutions (CES), and Continuous Improvement Programs (CIP) to enhance product offerings.
- Collaborate in design reviews and contribute to hardware and software specifications to fulfill Market Requirement Specifications (MRS).
- Support development of automation and motion control systems using PLC-based control platforms to improve machine operations.
- Design and validate digital and analog I/O architectures for modular machine configurations to ensure system flexibility and scalability.
- Integrate servo drives, motors, encoders, pneumatic devices, and field sensors into machine control systems to achieve precise control.
- Develop and execute complex projects, managing technical challenges and delivering solutions on schedule.
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable industry standards, including SEMI, NFPA 79, IEC, and company engineering standards to maintain safety and quality.
- Utilize engineering tools such as SAP, AutoCAD Electrical, SharePoint, and document management systems to support design and documentation processes.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with 2-5 years of relevant semiconductor industry experience.
- Self-starter with a strong problem-solving mindset to independently address technical challenges.
- Ability to create and evaluate design concepts and interfaces to optimize system performance.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, marketing, and vendors.
- Proficiency in electrical design CAD software (WSCAD), PLC programming, AutoCAD, and SAP to support design and project execution.
