What will your role look like? As a Financial Controller at Howden, you are the linchpin in our financial reporting. You are responsible for accurate, timely, and complete internal and external financial reports. You play a key role in guiding various audit controls, ensuring timely compliance with various tax obligations, and adhering to laws and regulations. You ensure that financial risks are effectively managed through internal control measures and monitor their effectiveness.

Your responsibilities Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the internal organization and for the purpose of the consolidation of Howden Group (UK)

Preparing the (consolidated) statutory annual accounts and preparing corporate income tax returns

Preparing and guiding internal and external audits

Managing and optimizing internal control processes

Identifying and implementing improvements in financial processes

Monitoring tax obligations and compliance.

The team and our organization As a Financial Controller, you will take on an important role within the Finance team at our location in Den Bosch. You will report to the Manager Finance & Control and work closely with the control team and the general ledger team to further optimize the financial performance of Howden Nederland. We do this together with a team of approximately 15 colleagues. Generally, we work three days in the office and the rest usually from home. When we are in the office, we enjoy having lunch together and going for a walk. In addition to conviviality, we find attention to ambition very important. What do you bring? To successfully perform your role at Howden, it helps to possess the following: A completed HBO or WO degree in Finance, Business Economics, or Accountancy

At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within financial or business services

You are analytically strong, proactive, and focused on the continuous improvement of processes

Excellent knowledge of Excel and preferably knowledge of Exact and Workday Finance

Some experience with setting up and working with BI tools (Strategy, Power BI, etc.)

Well-versed in Dutch GAAP and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)

Extensive experience in preparing annual accounts for large enterprises

Extensive tax knowledge and experience with compliance

You possess strong communication and networking skills; you are able to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders. You can build and maintain these relationships.

Good command of the English language, both spoken and written

A team player who can also work independently and is not afraid to roll up their sleeves
