Role Description The Accountant will work on-site in Ilorin in a full-time capacity, supporting the company’s financial operations across trading, contracting, and merchandising activities. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and maintaining financial records, processing invoices, posting transactions, and reconciling bank and ledger accounts. The role involves assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, as well as preparing periodic financial reports for management. The Accountant will ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, and collaborate with other departments to provide accurate financial data for decision-making. The individual will also support year-end audits, handle expense tracking, and help improve financial processes and documentation.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in accounting principles, including general ledger management, financial reporting, and account reconciliation. Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets, and comfort working with numerical data and financial analysis tools. Knowledge of local tax regulations, compliance requirements, and basic audit procedures. Attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and strong organizational skills for managing multiple financial tasks. Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) is an advantage. Experience in trading, merchandising, or contract-based environments is beneficial. Ability to work on-site in Ilorin and maintain confidentiality of financial information.
