Position Overview:
House of Lager Brewery is seeking an experienced and hands-on *Assistant General Manager* to support the General Manager with the day-to-day operation of our restaurant.
The AGM will oversee service, staff, scheduling, ordering, inventory, and overall restaurant standards while helping create an exceptional guest experience and positive team environment.
*This position is focused exclusively on restaurant operations and does not include brewery management or production responsibilities.*
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily restaurant and front-of-house operations as Manager on Duty.
- Ensure high standards of guest service, food and beverage quality, cleanliness, and presentation.
- Create and manage staff schedules, including shift coverage and staffing levels.
- Lead, train, coach, and support front-of-house staff.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
- Manage ordering, receiving, inventory, and product levels for restaurant operations.
- Monitor waste, product usage, labour, and operating costs.
- Oversee opening, closing, cash-out, and daily operational procedures.
- Handle guest concerns and resolve service issues professionally.
- Ensure compliance with liquor, health, safety, and workplace regulations.
- Coordinate staffing and operations for large parties, private events, and special functions.
- Work closely with the General Manager on operational planning, sales, cost control, and team development.
- Step into the General Manager's role when required.
- Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented workplace.
- Perform other restaurant management duties as required.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant management or supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with scheduling, ordering, inventory, and staff management.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Serving It Right certification required.
- FoodSafe certification is an asset.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay: $60,000.00-$77,715.94 per year
