About The Company Established in 2015, Hotlotz is Singapore's leading auction house for art, luxury items, and collectibles, holding more than 60 timed online sales every year. We combine a global online digital bidding platform with a physical local saleroom for public viewing, alongside a buy-now marketplace that offers immediate purchases.  Our specialist valuers provide professional appraisals across many asset categories, including Fine Art, Jewellery, Watches, Asian Works of Art, Fashion, and many others. Assisting private consignors, estates, and corporate institutions, Hotlotz maintains rigorous operational integrity, registered under the Ministry of Law and licensed by the Singapore Police Force. Consigned lots are on view in our saleroon, with bidding managed via our digital platform. In late 2026, our operations will relocate to a new flagship saleroom in Bukit Merah. Our international team comprises over 25 dedicated staff members across four core business units: valuations, operations, growth, and technology. To discover further details, please visit www.hotlotz.com. About The Role Almost every interaction with Hotlotz runs through software we build ourselves. We are looking for a Product Designer (UI/UX) with at least two years of experience to own the user experience across both sides: the customer-facing website, auction platform and Marketplace, and the internal systems our team relies on every day. You will treat staff and customers equally as users, and design for both. You will be our first dedicated product designer. You will report to the Chief Growth Officer, who also acts as Product Manager, and work day to day with our team of in-house engineers. With minimal layers between your work and a decision, you will have the opportunity to contribute your ideas meaningfully, and see your work deployed in swift product development cycles. Our users are unusually varied. They range from seasoned international collectors to first-time bidders, executors handling an estate, and corporate clients. Many of the people who use our internal tools work a few metres away in the saleroom, so you can watch real work happen, test an idea in the afternoon, and hear what worked by the end of the day. This role is ideal for someone who wants real ownership, enjoys both deep research and polished craft, and is happy to roll up their sleeves in a growing business. Key Responsibilities User Research & Testing Plan and run user research with both customers and staff, using interviews, surveys, observation in the saleroom, and analysis of behavioural data, so that decisions are grounded in what people actually do

Run usability testing on new and existing flows, and turn findings into clear, prioritised improvements

Build a shared understanding of our users across the business, and keep it current as the business grows

User Journeys & Information Architecture Map end-to-end user journeys, such as consigning an item through to receiving payout, or discovering a lot through to purchasing it, across both digital and in-person touchpoints

Identify pain points, handoffs and edge cases along those journeys, and redesign them to remove friction

Define and evolve the information architecture of our website, auction platform, Marketplace and internal tools, so that customers and staff can find what they need quickly

Write product specifications for implementation including turning ambiguous or technical requirements into clear product logic, covering flows, states, edge cases and error handling

Wireframing & Prototyping Sketch, wireframe and prototype quickly so ideas can be tested and discarded cheaply

Build interactive prototypes to validate ideas with users and align stakeholders before engineering begins

Employ thoughtful usage of AI-assisted design and prototyping tools where they genuinely speed up the work while remaining able to explain clear design choices and intentions

Interaction, Visual & Motion Design Produce polished, high-fidelity UI across desktop and mobile, with close attention to typography, layout and detail

Design interactions and motion that make the product feel responsive and trustworthy, from bidding countdowns to confirmations and loading states

Design clear, data-heavy internal interfaces, including tables, dashboards and multi-step workflows, for our specialists, operations and finance teams

Work with our marketing team to keep the product experience consistent with the Hotlotz brand

Design System Create and maintain the Hotlotz design system, including components, patterns, design tokens and usage guidelines

Partner with engineers so that the design system is reflected in code and stays the single source of truth

Document design decisions so that the system can scale as the team and product grow

Accessibility Champion accessibility across all our products

Ensure sufficient colour contrast, readable type, keyboard and screen reader support, and plain language for a customer base that spans every generation

Build accessibility checks into the design system and the release process

Delivery & Iteration Work closely with the Chief Growth Officer and engineers from scoping through to release, reviewing builds and QA so that what ships matches the design intent

Measure the impact of your work through analytics and user feedback, and keep improving it after launch

Requirements At least 2 years of experience as a product, UI/UX or interaction designer, ideally in-house on a live digital product

A portfolio showing your end-to-end process, from research and problem framing through to polished, shipped UI, across web and mobile

Hands-on experience running user research and usability tests, and turning the findings into design decisions

Experience mapping user journeys and structuring information architecture for complex products

Strong visual design skills, including typography, grids, layout and colour, with a high level of attention to detail

Proficiency in Figma, including components, auto layout, variables and interactive prototyping

Experience creating or contributing to a design system

Working knowledge of accessibility standards and how to design for them

Enough understanding of how software is built to collaborate closely with engineers and design for technical constraints

Comfortable being the only designer: self-directed, able to prioritise, and willing to take ownership of decisions

Good communication skills, and able to explain and defend design decisions to colleagues who are not designers

Familiarity with AI-assisted design and prototyping tools, and a view on where they genuinely help

Nice to have Experience with e-commerce, marketplaces, auctions, fintech or other transactional, data-heavy products

Experience designing internal tools or back-office systems

Experience working in a fast-paced startup or small team

An interest in art, antiques, design, jewellery, watches, collectibles, or any other asset categories we specialise in
