Sales Engineer - Complex automation projects

Our client is a technological company that supports industrial customers in optimizing their operational processes through smart, integrated custom solutions. They are active in a niche market where engineering and commerce go hand in hand. The company combines the dynamics of an entrepreneurial SME with the stability and growth opportunities of a larger group.

What will your package of tasks look like?

You are responsible for the entire commercial process and work independently within it:

• You actively expand a customer portfolio through prospecting and key account management.
• You analyze the customer's needs and develop a custom concept.
• You are responsible for pre-calculation, preparation of quotes, and negotiation at a senior level with operations, engineering, and management.
• You work on projects in Belgium with possible expansion to neighboring countries.
• Upon a won order, you ensure a smooth transfer to the internal teams via a structured kick-off meeting in which you explain context, risks, and opportunities.
• You work closely with internal experts in mechanical design and automation for the development of complex files.
• You manage customer invoicing and keep your pipeline up-to-date via CRM and ERP.

What do we expect from you?

• You have 5 to 10 years of experience in technical B2B project sales, preferably with custom projects.
• You have a background in machine building, automation, or a related technical discipline.
• You understand how systems work together and have expertise in mechanics and product flow.
• Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic drives is a plus. Insight into PLC programming is a bonus but not a requirement.
• You negotiate with ease at management level and know how to create support.
• You work entrepreneurially, independently, and result-oriented.
• You have a good knowledge of English in a technical context.
