For a leading manufacturer in the panel industry, we are looking for a commercially strong profile to further expand the retail market in Germany. You will work with a concrete and high-quality product range including chipboard, MDF, and furniture boards, supplemented by specific solutions for the DIY market.
In the first 6 to 12 months, you will invest in building solid knowledge. You will get to know the products, the organization, and the German DIY market inside and out. After that, you will take full independent commercial responsibility.
What will your package of tasks look like?
- You will dive deep into the German DIY market. Who are the players, what does the purchasing structure look like, which trends are playing out?
- You translate those insights into a clear market vision and identify the most relevant commercial opportunities.
- You build relationships with buyers and category managers at large retail chains. You conduct negotiations at a central purchasing level and convert commercial opportunities into concrete business through assortment policy, promotional actions, and pricing strategies.
- You monitor the execution of commercial initiatives down to the shop floor. You optimize presence on the online shops and e-commerce platforms of your customers.
- You build a strong internal network across various departments such as sales, marketing, supply chain, finance, and customer service.
- You work closely with the inside sales team regarding price lists, margin analyses, and order follow-up.
- You work independently with pricing tools and SAP. You prepare quotes, take ownership of pricing decisions within your scope, and closely monitor your commercial results.
What do we expect from you?
- You have a master's degree in a commercial, business administration, or economic field.
- You have relevant experience in B2B sales and preferably a background in food, FMCG, or the retail landscape.
- You know how buyers and category managers think and work. Experience in key account management is an extra asset.
- You are fluent in English and German. You combine an analytical mindset with a hands-on commercial approach.
- You take ownership, build proactive relationships, and find your way in complex markets and products.
- As a person, you are curious, result-oriented, socially strong, and structured.
