Our APAC business continues to grow, supported by a collaborative business services platform across the region. The Finance team plays a critical role in supporting the firm's financial management, operational effectiveness and regulatory compliance.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive, organised and detail-oriented finance professional to join our Singapore Finance team.

This is a hands-on role supporting a broad range of finance activities, including accounts receivable, billing, accounts payable, month-end processes, treasury support, audit support, client monies administration and general accounting operations.

The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across the Finance function and will be involved in both routine operational activities and ad hoc projects that support the efficient running of the Singapore office.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable &Billing

  • Assist with billing processes, including bill preparation and amendments.
  • Review WIP reports to assess billable status and ensure policy compliance.
  • Work closely with partners and matter teams to resolve aged WIP issues.

Accounts Payable

  • Post disbursements accurately in line with Singapore GST and accounting standards.
  • Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve accounts payable matters.
  • Support banking-related administration and payment processing activities.

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Assist with month-end closing duties, including journal posting and maintaining monthly balance sheet schedules.

Treasury, Client Monies& Compliance

  • Daily review and posting of client account bank transactions
  • Handle trust account transactions including monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Provide coverage duty for ship sale closing procedures, including liaising with banks to obtain MT103, and facilitating transfers from clients' accounts to office accounts.
  • Assist with breach register maintenance and compliance reporting requirements.

Audit & Finance Operations

  • Support internal and external audit by consolidating required documentation to ensure compliance with internal controls and statutory obligations.
  • Support GST, tax and statutory reporting requirements where required.

Finance Systems

Work with the Finance team and internal stakeholders to support the effective use of the firm's finance systems and tools, including:

  • Elite
  • Chrome River
  • Intapp
  • Banking platforms

Qualifications, Key Skills & Experience Required

  • Diploma, Degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 2 to 3 years' relevant accounting or finance experience.
  • Experience in a law firm, professional services environment or client account environment would be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of accounts receivable, billing and general accounting processes.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables and lookups.
  • Exposure to Elite, Chrome River or similar systems would be beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Well organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and recurring deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, adaptable and willing to learn across different areas of finance.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
