About Hemab

Hemab is building preventative treatments for serious, underserved bleeding disorders. These are therapies designed to work with the body's own biology and stop bleeds before they start, instead of treating them after they happen. We're patient-first, science-led and clinical-stage - with a pipeline that takes different scientific approaches to different patient needs.

We went public via our 2026 IPO, and we're scaling across two homes: Cambridge, MA, USA, and Copenhagen, Denmark.

The role

Hemab's pipeline now spans four clinical programs across three molecules and is now at the stage where portfolio and partnership decisions need a dedicated strategy function. This role builds that capability properly: the board-ready analysis, the partnership evaluation, and the competitive intelligence Hemab needs as it moves from single-asset thinking toward managing a full pipeline. You'll report directly to the CFO and largely define how this function works.

What you'll do

  • Build and own the financial and strategic analysis behind Hemab's biggest portfolio and partnership decisions.
  • Prepare board-ready material, including portfolio scenarios, and partnership recommendations that hold up under scrutiny from people who've seen this before.
  • Evaluate potential partnerships with large pharmaceutical companies as Hemab's pipeline matures, focusing on whether a deal makes strategic sense rather than on originating or closing it.
  • Design the processes this function runs on, since none exist yet: how a partnership gets evaluated, how a board paper gets built, what good looks like here.
  • Work closely with R&D, clinical, and commercial colleagues so that strategic analysis reflects where each program genuinely stands, not just what a model says on paper.
  • Take on the CFO's broader strategic agenda as it develops.

What you'll bring to Hemab

  • Several years building financial and strategic analysis in biotech, pharma, or healthcare investment banking, with genuine fluency in how a drug pipeline actually progresses.
  • A track record of producing board-ready material from a blank page, not adapting someone else's deck.
  • Experience evaluating or supporting partnership or licensing decisions, assessing whether an opportunity makes sense rather than executing a deal that's already agreed.
  • Comfort operating without an established process, and the discipline to build one instead of waiting for one to appear.
  • Direct, clear communication with senior stakeholders, including the willingness to tell a CFO or board member their preferred read isn't supported by the data.

Nice to have

  • Experience in chronic disease markets, ideally hematology or bleeding disorders, where prophylactic or long-term therapies compete against an established standard of care
  • Experience at a company around Hemab's current stage, or having helped build a strategy or corporate development function from an earlier one.
  • A scientific background or clinical/R&D experience before moving into a strategic or analytical role.

What to expect, honestly

Hemab is still building a lot of its own structure. Systems here tend to get created as we need them, not handed down in advance. Whoever takes this role will likely build some of their own process instead of inheriting a finished one. We work across two hubs and multiple time zones - bridging that well takes real, deliberate effort. And because we're growing quickly, priorities can shift with less notice than they would at a larger, more established company.

This is the actual shape of working somewhere at this stage: It's genuinely energising for the right person and genuinely frustrating for the wrong one. If you want a place where the operating manual is already written, this might not be it – but if you want to help write it, this might be exactly it.

Why Hemab

At Hemab, your work ultimately connects back to something simple. People living with serious bleeding disorders get something they've never had before - the chance to prevent a bleed, instead of reacting to one after it happens. You'll be joining at a stage where individual decisions still carry real weight, and where your work can help turn promising science into a preventative treatment that actually reaches patients.

How we treat our people is meant to be an extension of how we think about patients: with care, honesty, and respect. We're still building the consistency to back that up across every hiring process, every time. We'd say that plainly instead of pretending otherwise. If any part of your experience with us falls short of it, tell us.

Hemab builds balanced candidate slates and assesses everyone against a single standard. If you need a reasonable adjustment at any stage of the hiring process, please tell us.
