CNC Machining Supervisor
Your tasks
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on CNC Machining Supervisor to lead a team of machinists, coordinate daily production activities, and ensure maximum utilisation of CNC machines. The successful candidate must be technically competent, able to perform machining work personally, and capable of planning and allocating jobs efficiently to meet production schedules, quality standards, and customer delivery deadlines.
- Production Planning and Scheduling: Arrange and prioritise machining jobs based on customer orders, production schedules, material availability, and delivery deadlines.
- Hands-On Machining: Perform CNC machining operations when required, including machine setup, tool setting, program adjustments, and first-piece inspection.
- Team Leadership: Lead, supervise, and allocate work to machinists to ensure efficient manpower utilisation and timely job completion.
- Machine Utilisation: Monitor machine loading and utilisation to minimise machine idle time, reduce bottlenecks, and maximise production capacity.
- Job Coordination: Ensure jobs are properly arranged and distributed across available machines according to machine capability, tooling requirements, and production priorities.
- Production Monitoring: Track job progress, identify potential delays, and take corrective action to maintain the production schedule.
- Quality Control: Ensure machined components meet engineering drawings, dimensional tolerances, and customer specifications.
- Tooling and Material Management: Ensure cutting tools, fixtures, raw materials, and other necessary resources are available before production begins.
- Machine Maintenance: Coordinate preventive maintenance and ensure CNC machines are kept in good working condition to minimise downtime.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve machining efficiency, reduce cycle time, minimise material wastage, and improve overall productivity.
- Workplace Safety: Ensure all machining activities comply with workplace safety procedures and proper machine operating practices.
- Reporting: Report production output, machine utilisation, downtime, quality issues, and manpower requirements to management.
