JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on F&B Area Manager to oversee the daily operations and performance of multiple outlets.

The Area Manager will be responsible for sales, profitability, manpower, training, food quality, customer service, inventory control, SOP compliance and outlet development.

The successful candidate must be able to lead Outlet Managers and Supervisors, identify operational problems quickly, and take effective action to improve outlet performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Multi-Outlet Operations
  • Oversee the daily operations of assigned outlets.
  • Conduct regular outlet visits and operational checks.
  • Ensure all outlets comply with company SOPs and operational standards.
  • Identify operational issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure outlets maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and service.
  • Monitor opening and closing procedures.
  1. Sales & Profitability
  • Monitor daily, weekly and monthly sales performance.
  • Set sales targets and work with Outlet Managers to achieve them.
  • Analyse sales trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement sales-building initiatives and promotions.
  • Monitor food cost, labour cost, wastage and other operating expenses.
  • Work with management to improve outlet profitability.
  1. Manpower Management
  • Plan manpower requirements for each outlet.
  • Ensure sufficient manpower coverage according to business needs.
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality and staff productivity.
  • Support recruitment and staff retention.
  • Manage staff deployment between outlets when necessary.
  • Handle operational manpower issues and disciplinary matters.
  • Ensure proper staff scheduling.
  1. Training & Staff Development
  • Train and coach Outlet Managers, Supervisors and staff.
  • Ensure new employees receive proper induction and training.
  • Conduct regular refresher training.
  • Ensure staff understand recipes, SOPs, service standards and food safety requirements.
  • Identify high-potential employees and develop them for promotion.
  1. Food Quality & Customer Service
  • Ensure consistent food quality across all outlets.
  • Monitor portion control, recipes and food presentation.
  • Ensure service standards are maintained.
  • Monitor customer feedback and complaints.
  • Take ownership of serious customer complaints and service recovery.
  • Implement measures to improve customer satisfaction.
  1. Inventory & Cost Control
  • Monitor food and packaging inventory.
  • Ensure proper ordering and stock control.
  • Monitor wastage, spoilage and stock variances.
  • Ensure FIFO and proper storage procedures.
  • Investigate abnormal food cost or inventory variances.
  • Work towards achieving the company’s food-cost targets.
  1. Hygiene, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Singapore F&B regulations.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and workplace safety.
  • Ensure required records and documentation are properly maintained.
  • Conduct regular hygiene and operational checks.
  • Follow up on any non-compliance issues immediately.
  1. Equipment & Maintenance
  • Monitor kitchen and outlet equipment.
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained.
  • Report and follow up on repair and maintenance issues.
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and landlords when required.
  1. Management Reporting

Prepare regular reports for management covering:

  • Sales performance
  • Food cost
  • Labour cost
  • Outlet profitability
  • Manpower situation
  • Wastage
  • Customer complaints
  • Operational issues
  • Corrective actions and improvement plans
  1. New Outlet Opening

Support management in new outlet openings, including:

  • Recruitment and manpower planning
  • Staff training
  • SOP implementation
  • Equipment and kitchen setup
  • Menu preparation
  • Pre-opening checks
  • Soft opening
  • Launch operations
  • Post-opening performance monitoring

The Area Manager will be assessed based on:

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • Minimum 3–5 years of F&B management experience.
  • Experience managing multiple outlets preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of F&B operations.
  • Good leadership and people-management skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to work independently and make operational decisions.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willing to travel between outlets.
  • Proficient in basic reporting and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.

Preferred

  • Experience in QSR, fast-casual or multi-outlet F&B operations.
  • Experience in new outlet openings.
  • Experience with POS and digital ordering systems.
  • Knowledge of food-cost and labour-cost management.
  • Experience in staff training and SOP development.

The Area Manager is accountable for the overall operational performance of assigned outlets.

The Area Manager should have sufficient authority to:

  • Adjust manpower deployment.
  • Implement approved operational improvements.
  • Coach and discipline staff according to company policy.
  • Escalate serious operational and HR matters to management.
  • Recommend changes to improve sales, service and profitability.
