Your tasks

This role focuses on power electronics PCB layout, including DC-DC converters, power distribution, battery systems, motor drivers, and high-current switching circuits. The candidate will work closely with electrical engineers to translate schematics into robust, manufacturable layouts optimized for thermal performance, EMI control, reliability, and spaceflight environments.

PCB Layout Design Perform full PCB layout for high-power and high-current power electronics boards used in satellite avionics. Translate OrCAD schematics into Allegro layouts while maintaining signal integrity and power integrity. Design multilayer boards (6–20+ layers) including: high current planes power distribution networks controlled impedance signals thermal management structures. Implement layout techniques for: high current (>10–100A) paths low inductance power loops switching regulators high di/dt circuits power MOSFETs / GaN devices / motor drivers Power Electronics Layout Optimization

Optimize layout for switch-mode power supplies and power distribution units. Minimize parasitic inductance and loop areas in high-current switching nodes. Implement Kelvin sensing, current shunts, and high-accuracy measurement routing. Ensure adequate copper thickness, trace width, and via current capacity. Design for thermal spreading, heat sinks, and copper balancing. EMI / Signal Integrity

Apply layout techniques to minimize switching noise EMI emissions cross-coupling Manage grounding strategies (split grounds, star grounds, analog/digital separation). Implement shielding and filtering structures as required. Library Development (Allegro)

Develop and maintain component libraries in Cadence Allegro including: footprints pad stacks 3D models symbols Ensure library parts comply with: IPC standards manufacturing constraints space-qualified component packages. Manufacturing & Documentation

Generate full manufacturing package Gerbers / ODB++ drill files fabrication drawings assembly drawings Support DFM / DFA reviews with fabrication and assembly vendors. Work with manufacturing to resolve layout-related build issues. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Power Electronics Engineers RF Engineers Mechanical Engineers Manufacturing teams Test engineers. Required Qualifications
