Senior Lawyer

Salary- 1 Million Net

Role Description The Senior Lawyer will provide legal support and guidance on all corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters affecting the company and its clients. This full-time, on-site role in Lagos includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, service agreements, and other legal documents related to ICT and business services.

The Senior Lawyer will advise management on compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including data protection, intellectual property, employment, and corporate governance. Daily tasks include conducting legal research, assessing risk, managing disputes, interfacing with external counsel when necessary, and supporting business teams during client engagements and new product or service rollouts. The role also involves developing internal policies, training staff on legal and compliance issues, and contributing to strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

Strong expertise in corporate and commercial law, including contract drafting, negotiation, and review. Experience with ICT-related legal issues such as data protection, cybersecurity, intellectual property, and technology-service agreements. Proven ability in regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and policy development for organizations operating in Nigeria and, ideally, other jurisdictions. Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to translate complex legal concepts into clear guidance for non-legal stakeholders. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear legal opinions, reports, and correspondence. Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with experience advising senior management and cross-functional teams. Minimum of a law degree (LL.B) and admission to the Nigerian Bar; an LL.M or relevant professional certifications are an advantage. Several years of post-qualification experience in corporate or commercial law, preferably within ICT, technology, or a related sector. High level of integrity, sound judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work on-site full time in Lagos.
