About the position

Herman Senior is a Dutch family business with 50 years of experience in the maritime sector. With our fleet, we support international customers in the offshore, dredging, and wind industries.

As a Technical Superintendent, you are responsible for the technical and nautical management of multiple vessels. You are the connecting link between ship and shore and ensure that the fleet operates safely, reliably, and in accordance with laws and regulations.

Activities

Your responsibilities

• Managing the fleet in accordance with laws and regulations and the QHSE management system.
• Monitoring and implementing Class and Flag State requirements.
• Coordinating maintenance, repairs, inspections, and surveys.
• Organizing and supervising dry-dockings.
• Monitoring costs and achieving cost-efficient maintenance.
• Conducting vessel visits and inspecting the technical condition.
• Acting as the technical point of contact within the organization.
• Supervising the Junior Technical Assistant.
• Maintaining relationships with suppliers, shipyards, and classification societies.

Your profile

Qualifications

• Completed technical and/or maritime education at MBO+/HBO level.
• Experience with or demonstrable affinity for tugboats and workboats.
• Knowledge of maritime laws and regulations and Class and Flag State requirements.
• Good command of the English language, both spoken and written.
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working attitude.
