Metrology Systems Expert (m/f/d) In your role as Metrology Systems Expert (m/f/d), you are responsible for the conceptual further development, standardization, and scientifically sound design of measurement, analysis, and data systems, and you contribute decisively to making complex physical, material, and process-related relationships transparent, comparable, and controllable throughout the entire value chain. You design and evaluate measurement system architectures, testing strategies, and data models for complex products and processes, defining company-wide standards for measurement data quality, comparability, and traceability. In addition, you develop and apply advanced statistical and physical models (e.g., variance analyses, multivariate methods, or models for describing inhomogeneities) and evaluate measurement uncertainties as well as systematic effects on a sound scientific basis. Furthermore, you design and implement scalable analysis and reporting concepts using modern BI tools, databases, and automation solutions, and program corresponding analysis and automation routines, for example in Python or SQL. In your key technical role, you advise interfaces such as Quality, Production, Development, Metrology, and IT on complex, non-standardized issues and support Root Cause Analyses, technology decisions, and investment evaluations. You sustainably integrate data-driven and scientific methods into existing quality management systems, actively drive their further development, and participate in international and cross-site initiatives.
A completed university degree (Master or Doctorate) in Physics, Technical Physics, Materials Science, Metrology, Data Science, or comparable (Doctorate with an experimental, statistical, or model-based focus is an advantage) Sound knowledge of statistical methods, data analysis, and their application in a quality environment Experience in using data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Qlik Sense/View, Power BI, Excel) as well as programming skills in Python and SQL Understanding of data architectures and ideally experience with ERP systems, especially SAP (QM module is an advantage) High affinity for numbers, data, and facts, as well as a strong analytical and scientific mindset Ability to prepare complex relationships in a structured manner and translate them into practice-relevant measures Independent, structured, and solution-oriented way of working with high intrinsic motivation for the sustainable improvement of systems Strong communication skills in interdisciplinary and international environments as well as very good English skills
