Interior Detail Designer

You will transform interior basic designs into detailed production documentation for demanding passenger vessels while collaborating with other design disciplines, suppliers, external partners, and production.

The role requires a relevant technical degree, experience in technical interior design and detailed documentation, proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D software, prior shipbuilding or marine industry experience, fluent English, and regular on-site presence in Helsinki.

Your role
We are now looking for an Interior Detail Designer to join our Interior Department team.
As an Interior Detail Designer, you will transform interior basic design solutions into detailed production documentation for some of the world's most demanding passenger vessels. You will work closely with other design disciplines, suppliers, external design partners, and production to ensure high-quality and buildable interior solutions.
What will you be working on?
Depending on the project, your tasks may include:
● Preparing detail design drawings for interior and relative documentation
● Coordinating interfaces with other disciplines, especially HVAC and electrical
● Supporting production teams during vessel outfitting and installation phases by clarifying design solutions, resolving technical queries, and ensuring that designs remain practical, safe, and production-friendly throughout construction
● Solving technical challenges together with production and other disciplines
● Updating drawings and documentation depending on changes that arise during the construction phase
● Participating in design reviews, and change management activities
● Depending on project needs, you may also support System Responsible Designers in Basic Design activities
What are we looking for?
You could be a good fit for the role if you have:
● A relevant technical degree, such as Engineering, Design, or another related field.
● Experience with technical interior design and detailed documentation
● Experience with AutoCAD and 3D design software
● Understanding of construction, manufacturing, or shipbuilding processes
● A practical, solution-oriented approach to your work
● Fluent English skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in an international environment
Previous experience in shipbuilding or the marine industry is required. As this role involves close collaboration with our production teams, regular on-site presence at our production facilities in Helsinki is required.
