Payroll Clerk (m/f/d)

The Helmholtz-Zentrum für Infektionsforschung, based in Braunschweig, conducts cutting-edge research in the field of infectious diseases as a member of the Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft. Our scientists develop novel methods and strategies to combat infectious diseases ever faster and more effectively. Our common goal is novel approaches to the prevention, diagnosis, and therapy of infectious diseases. At the center of our research are bacterial and viral pathogens, their interaction with the human immune system, and new effective active ingredients and vaccines.

The People & Culture department at HZI is the central contact point for all personnel-related matters and questions. Your responsibilities include all aspects of the Employee-Lifecycle, starting with personnel planning, through recruitment, to payroll accounting.

These tasks await you:

  • Data maintenance in the payroll system SAP for timely monthly accounting
  • Application and implementation of social security, tax, collective agreement, and pension law
  • Independent execution of reporting to social security institutions, tax authorities, and pension institutions
  • Contact person for employees, authorities, social security institutions, and company and business auditors in all matters relevant to accounting
  • Creation of certificates, statistics, reports, and HR evaluations
  • Participation in the further development and optimization of the accounting system and payroll processes

Your qualifications and skills:

  • Completed commercial vocational training or comparable training with equivalent skills and experience
  • Experience in finance and personnel administration
  • Knowledge of social security, wage tax, and collective agreement law (TVöD Bund, TV EntgO Bund, TV-L)
  • Knowledge of the Bundesbesoldungsgesetz (BBesG)
  • Knowledge of relevant legal regulations (AGG, WissZeitVG, BetrVG, SGB)
  • Good IT skills in SAP (payroll system) and MS Office
  • Knowledge and experience in dealing with digitized work processes
