JOB DESCRIPTION Job Reference No: M-2026-0569 Job Role: Assistant Lead Engineer Department: Infra Delivery Years of Experience At least 6 - 8 years’ experience in developing, implementing and maintaining IT systems Position Summary / Project Description The Automation Engineer will support the Team Lead in overseeing 24x7 platform operations for Ansible Automation Platform and Red Hat OpenShift. The role covers Day 2 support, platform upgrades, and new platform setup, while assisting the Team Lead in operational and project matters. The incumbent must be prepared to support after-hours activities including scheduled maintenance, emergency incidents, and on-call responsibilities. Role and Responsibilities

• The incumbent will assist the Team Lead in overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring incidents, service requests, and change activities are managed within agreed service levels. This includes coordinating team workload and rostering for 24x7 coverage, tracking operational metrics, and preparing status updates for stakeholders. They will act as the first point of escalation during off-hours, leading incident response when the Team Lead is unavailable, and will mentor junior engineers to ensure the team can handle platform issues independently.
• On the technical side, the incumbent will handle incident resolution, root cause analysis, platform health monitoring, capacity management, and upkeep of runbooks and standard operating procedures. They will plan and execute platform upgrades and contribute to new platform setups covering installation, configuration, enterprise service integration, and security hardening. For AWS, they will perform basic administration tasks covering computing, storage, networking, and identity and access management, ensuring cloud resources are managed in line with security and governance requirements.
• The incumbent will also support the Team Lead on project matters including milestone tracking, deliverable coordination, risk management, and vendor and stakeholder liaison.

Requirements / Qualifications Requirements The candidate should have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in platform or infrastructure engineering and support, with hands-on experience in Ansible Automation Platform and OpenShift or Kubernetes in a production environment. Experience with platform upgrades and new platform deployments is essential. The candidate must be willing to support a 24x7 on-call roster and participate in after-hours maintenance activities. Some prior experience in a lead or senior technical capacity is expected, along with strong troubleshooting skills, familiarity with ITSM frameworks, and good communication and organisational skills. Preferred Qualifications Red Hat certifications such as RHCE, Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation or OpenShift Administration, or certification on AWS administration are advantageous. Familiarity with observability tools such as Elastic Search, experience with ServiceNow tools, and knowledge of Devops practices are a plus. BH 10797
