Introduction

We are looking for people already located in Hessen and Northern Bavaria who love to work with children aged 3 months to 19 years in small groups and have a mother tongue level of written and spoken English.

We have Learning Centres in Dreieich, Hanau, Bad Soden, Frankfurt-Süd, Frankfurt Nordend, Oberursel, Bad Nauheim, Bensheim, Haibach, and Fürth. The Helen Doron English teaching methodology prides itself on teaching teaching English to children naturally through fun and play. This teaching method was developed by the British linguist Helen Doron over 40 years ago and is continuously updated by new research. We offer candidates the opportunity to attend a teacher training course and qualify as a Helen Doron Early English teacher with an International Diploma. Employment can only be offered after the candidate has passed this course. To maintain high standards of education and to keep our fantastic reputation, we only consider candidates with excellent speaking and writing skills in English. Tasks

Teaching responsibilities: As a Helen Doron English teacher, you could teach around 1-5 hours per week, depending on your flexibility and classroom experience. At Helen Doron, we offer a wide range of specialised English courses organised by ability and age ranging from 3 months to 19 years. Usually, each group is taught once a week and each lesson lasts between 45 and 90 minutes. Using Helen Doron's unique methodology and teaching material provided by each learning centre, you will teach your groups actively in English through music, play and fun. B1 German is preferred for communication with parents before and after lessons to discuss students' progress. In order to teach Helen Doron Teen English, you will require experience teaching various grammar and writing skills in a creative and fun way, while helping students achieve great grades at school.

Profile

Requirements: Excellent standard of English (written and spoken) similar to mother-tongue level and be able to teach English Grammar and writing skills. German B1+ would also be beneficial. You must be located near to one of our Learning Centres in Hessen and Northern Bavaria, and be aware of travel distance/public transport. Your application will be forwarded to the nearest Learning Centre, who will contact you directly. Qualifications to teach English are preferred. E.g. CELTA, TEFL, Degree in Education or English. Candidates must be able to work any afternoon and Saturdays.
