Transport Supervisor

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join our client’s busy operation in Sunbury. This is a great opportunity for a transport professional who enjoys a hands-on role and has a strong understanding of driver management, fleet compliance and day to day transport operations.

Working Hours & Benefits

Salary: £38,000 per annum Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:30am–6:30pm Saturday: One half-day Saturday every 3 weeks Location: Sunbury

Your responsibilities will include :

• Managing and supporting a team of drivers on a daily basis.
• Monitoring tachographs and drivers’ hours .
• Overseeing vehicle checks, defects, servicing, MOTs and general fleet maintenance.
• Ensuring compliance with Operator Licence requirements and transport legislation.
• Managing driver issues, accidents, performance and disciplinary matters where required.
• Conducting driver and vehicle checks and ensuring daily driver debriefs are completed.
• Coordinating driver training, including Driver CPC .
• Maintaining accurate fleet and compliance records and producing reports when required.
• Ensuring Health & Safety procedures are followed
• Working closely with drivers, management, suppliers and CPC holders.
• Managing fleet systems
• Helping to maintain high standards of vehicle safety, presentation and operational efficiency.

About You

We’re looking for someone with previous experience within a transport, logistics or fleet environment who is confident managing drivers and dealing with compliance requirements.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Good knowledge of transport operations and legislation.
• Experience with tachographs, drivers’ hours and fleet compliance.
• Knowledge of Operator Licence requirements.
• Strong IT skills, including Excel and Word.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• A confident and supportive management style with the ability to motivate a team.
• CPC/Transport Manager qualification would be advantageous, although candidates willing to undertake the qualification will also be considered.
