Airfreight Operations Specialist

We are recruiting for an experienced Airfreight Operations Specialist to join our client’s business in the Heathrow area.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced freight professional who is confident working independently and taking complete ownership of their workload.

You will be responsible for managing airfreight operations from start to finish , with full responsibility for your shipments, customers and day-to-day workload. This is a role where you will have the freedom to manage your own work and use your experience to ensure everything runs smoothly.

• Location: Heathrow
• Salary: £40,000–£50,000 per annum
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday
• Working Pattern: Fully office-based

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing airfreight shipments from start to finish
• Handling both air imports and exports
• Taking full ownership of your own workload
• Managing your own inbox and customer enquiries
• Preparing and sending quotations
• Handling invoicing and relevant documentation
• Liaising directly with customers, suppliers and overseas agents
• Coordinating shipments and ensuring deadlines are met
• Dealing with customs entries and shipping documentation
• Resolving operational issues independently
• Keeping customers updated throughout the shipment process
• Managing your workload effectively and ensuring all shipments are handled efficiently

About You

We are looking for an experienced airfreight professional who:

• Has strong senior-level airfreight experience
• Has extensive knowledge of air imports and exports
• Has proven experience managing shipments from start to finish
• Is confident working completely independently
• Is comfortable taking full responsibility for their own workload
• Has excellent organisational and time-management skills
• Has strong attention to detail
• Has a professional telephone and email manner
• Has excellent customer service skills
• Has experience with quotations and invoicing
• Is confident dealing with customers and managing their own accounts/workload
• Has experience using Sequoia – advantageous
• Has road and/or sea freight experience – advantageous
