*Position Summary*

The General Carpenter is responsible for the high-quality fabrication, construction, and repair of structural woodwork and wood products by following engineered drawings, renderings, proposed scope, and oral instruction, while using carpentry tools and equipment.

*Duties and Responsibilities*

Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the duties and responsibilities of the General Carpenter include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Performs a range of carpentry tasks ensuring all daily job site construction is completed with quality and care.
• Installs exterior doors/windows, trim work, fitting interior doors, and flooring install (wood and vinyl), framing of floors, walls, rafter and truss roofs.
• Performs high quality general and finish carpentry works.
• Interprets and works from engineered drawings, specifications, and instructions to complete projects.
• Supports the Project Manager in daily site coordination, providing on-the-ground leadership and communication with trades and subcontractors.
• Assists with progress documentation, including daily logs and photos, ensuring accurate records of on-site activity.
• Participates actively in quality control, identifying deficiencies in trade or carpenter work and reporting them promptly for corrective action.
• Coordinates with Project Managers to determine materials, equipment, and resource needs.
• Assists in material takeoffs and communicates requirements promptly.
• Ensures high-quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications.
• Collaborates with subcontractors, engineers, and other key team members to ensure project success.
• Shares responsibility for maintaining site safety by enforcing protocols, participating in toolbox talks, and addressing hazards directly.
• Maintains clear communication with clients, managers, and various trades.
• Manages and maintains Heartwood?s tools and equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00-$38.00 per hour
