Finance Analyst

Working closely with the Group Financial Controller and senior leadership team, you'll provide the analysis and insight that helps shape commercial and operational decisions across both the UK and US operations. Whether you're analysing margins, challenging departmental spend, reviewing stock performance or improving financial processes, you'll play an important role in helping the business understand what's driving its performance and where improvements can be made.
What you'll be doing: Producing monthly management accounts and financial reporting for the US operation Analysing margins, sales performance, overheads and profitability trends Producing monthly sales and margin reports for senior leadership and the US sales team Supporting annual budgets, rolling forecasts and wider financial planning Monitoring working capital, including stock forecasting, stock control and cash flow Working with Department Heads to review performance against budget and understand variances Overseeing month-end accounting including accruals, prepayments and depreciation Maintaining control of the fixed asset register Preparing financial information to support monthly board reporting Providing financial support for customer tenders and other commercial activity Working closely with Operations, Sales and Marketing teams on projects and business initiatives Helping strengthen financial controls, reporting processes and procedures Supporting local US financial compliance and reporting requirements Getting involved in ad hoc finance projects as the business continues to develop
What they're looking for: ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified or part-qualified At least two years' experience in a Management Accountant, Finance Analyst or similar role Good experience of management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting and analysis Experience working with ERP and accounting systems A commercial mindset and an interest in understanding what sits behind the numbers Someone comfortable questioning information and challenging existing ways of doing things Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders outside Finance A proactive and organised approach with excellent attention to detail The ability to adapt as the business continues to grow and change Experience within manufacturing, engineering or another product-led environment would be advantageous
