Health Safety Environment Coordinator

Hazoria Limited is seeking a proactive and experienced HSE Coordinator to support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Company's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards across its manufacturing and operational facilities.

The successful candidate will help ensure a safe working environment across Hazoria's operations, including its sack, marble, paper, carpet, textile, carton, metal works and UV printing facilities . The role will coordinate HSE inspections, risk assessments, incident management, training, compliance monitoring and environmental initiatives, while working closely with production, engineering, facilities and management teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Health & Safety

• Coordinate the implementation of HSE policies, procedures and safe work practices across the Company's facilities.
• Conduct routine workplace inspections to identify unsafe conditions, behaviours and potential hazards.
• Conduct and support risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for operational activities.
• Monitor compliance with required safety standards, procedures and PPE requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture through regular employee engagement and awareness activities.
• Coordinate toolbox talks, safety briefings, inductions and other HSE training programmes.
• Monitor the safe operation of machinery, equipment and workplace activities in collaboration with relevant technical teams.
• Support the implementation of permit-to-work systems for high-risk activities where applicable.

Incident Management & Emergency Response

• Coordinate the reporting, investigation and documentation of accidents, near misses, unsafe acts and other HSE incidents.
• Participate in root-cause analysis and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Track HSE corrective actions through to closure.
• Support emergency preparedness and response activities.
• Coordinate periodic emergency drills, including fire and evacuation drills.
• Ensure emergency equipment and facilities are appropriately maintained and accessible.

Environmental Management

• Monitor environmental practices across the Company's manufacturing facilities.
• Support effective management of industrial waste, hazardous materials and general waste.
• Monitor emissions, effluent, noise and other environmental risks where applicable.
• Promote responsible resource use and environmental sustainability.
• Support compliance with applicable environmental requirements and regulatory standards.
• Maintain appropriate environmental records and documentation.

HSE Compliance & Audits

• Monitor compliance with applicable HSE laws, regulations, standards and Company requirements .
• Support internal and external HSE audits and inspections.
• Maintain accurate HSE registers, records, inspection reports and incident documentation.
• Track regulatory and audit findings and ensure timely corrective action.
• Liaise with relevant regulatory bodies and service providers when required.
• Assist in maintaining required HSE certifications, permits and documentation.

Contractor & Visitor Safety

• Ensure contractors and visitors comply with applicable HSE requirements while on Company premises.
• Support contractor HSE induction and compliance monitoring.
• Participate in pre-job safety reviews for contractors undertaking high-risk activities.
• Monitor contractor work areas and escalate unsafe practices.

HSE Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Prepare periodic HSE reports covering incidents, inspections, training, observations, corrective actions and other relevant indicators.
• Analyse HSE trends and recommend preventive measures.
• Support management in identifying emerging HSE risks.
• Participate in HSE improvement initiatives across the Company's manufacturing locations.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, Facilities, HR and other functions to address HSE concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, Sciences or a related discipline.
• Relevant professional HSE certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years' relevant HSE experience, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial or engineering environment.
• Practical experience in workplace inspections, risk assessments, incident investigation and HSE training.
• Knowledge of Nigerian occupational health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Experience working across manufacturing plants or multiple operational sites will be an advantage.
