Teaching Assistant for Upper KS2

Your new company Hays Education is one of the largest education recruitment agencies in the Merseyside area. We are currently working with a school in Southport who are looking to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant to work across Upper Key Stage 2. This is a full time role starting asap for the remainder of the academic year.
Your tasks
Your new role Working with the upper Key Stage 2 teaching team, you will provide general and small group support as directed. Day to day duties will include:
- Supporting the class teacher in the classroom preparing resources and teaching materials and ensuring that all children in the class have access to the curriculum.
- Supporting pupils with special needs; preparing individual resources for pupil's who need them.
- Working closely with the class teacher, planning lessons and activities and assessing progress.
Requirements
What you'll need to succeed For this teaching assistant job you will need:
- Have a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or Education related degree
- Have at least three months experience working with children in an education setting, particularly with the KS2 age range
- Excellent communication skills
- Hold GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above
- Sound knowledge of KS2 Curriculum
