Hays Education are working with a secondary school in the Horsham area to recruit an enthusiastic and creative Teacher of Drama for a temporary position. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students through the performing arts and join a supportive and forward-thinking school environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging Drama lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging creativity, confidence and self-expression while maintaining high standards of teaching and learning. The school is seeking a teacher who can motivate students of all abilities and contribute positively to the wider life of the department.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality Drama lessons.
- Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress effectively.
- Support students in developing performance, communication and creative skills.
- Contribute to extracurricular activities, productions and performances where appropriate.
- Maintain excellent classroom management and behaviour standards.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Drama in a secondary school setting.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply.
