Mobile Site Manager - Secure Projects Location: Birmingham and HMP Ranby, Nottinghamshire Contract: Temporary or temp-to-perm Duration: Expected to run until at least January Hays is recruiting an experienced Mobile Site Manager to support two live projects across secure Ministry of Justice environments in Birmingham and Nottinghamshire.This is an urgent requirement and would suit an immediately available Site Manager who already holds EL1 clearance. The initial assignment is expected to run until at least January, with the potential to move into a permanent role for the right person. Your new role You will work alongside Regional Project Managers to oversee the safe and efficient delivery of multiple projects. The current workload includes a specialist clean-room installation at HMP Ranby and a cell-reclaim scheme in Birmingham. Your responsibilities will include: Managing subcontractors and in-house labour Overseeing health and safety, quality and programme delivery Completing site paperwork, permits, RAMS and progress reports Coordinating M&E, fabric and general building works Attending surveys and scope meetings Maintaining strong communication with clients and site stakeholders Ensuring company processes and secure-site requirements are followed What you'll need to succeed Previous experience as a Site Manager or in a comparable project delivery role Experience across M&E, building services, fabric or general construction Current SMSTS or SSSTS Valid CSCS or ECS card Strong health and safety knowledge Experience managing subcontractors and multiple work streams Good IT skills and confidence in completing detailed site documentation Full UK manual driving licence Flexibility to travel between Birmingham and HMP Ranby Existing EL1 clearance is strongly preferred Prison, MOJ, MOD, defence or other secure-site experience would be beneficial What you'll get in return The immediate temporary opportunity is expected to run until at least January Genuine temp-to-perm potential Varied project work across secure environments Permanent salary of £45,000-£55,000 plus car allowance, if the role becomes permanent 33 days' holiday including bank holidays on the permanent package Pension, laptop, mobile phone and work-related expenses on the permanent package Career development opportunities What you need to do now If you are interested and hold the relevant experience and clearance, apply with an up-to-date CV.
