Overview

Join a high-profile London-wide programme supporting the delivery of energy-efficiency improvements to homes across 31 London boroughs.

Support a programme designed to help residents experiencing fuel poverty and reduce household energy bills.

Take on a people-focused engagement role, working closely with residents, local authorities and delivery partners.

Build trust and positive relationships with residents, including those who may be dissatisfied with the scheme or facing challenging circumstances.

Use strong communication and relationship-management skills to navigate difficult conversations, resolve issues and bring stakeholders with you.

Lead engagement with borough partners and delivery organisations, helping overcome practical barriers to successful delivery.

Help ensure residents are effectively supported throughout their journey.

Energy-efficiency expertise is not essential. The priority is strong public sector, partnership and community/resident engagement experience.

Your new role

  • Build strong relationships with residents, boroughs, delivery partners and other stakeholders.
  • Act as a key liaison point for local authority partners participating in the programme.
  • Manage sensitive or challenging conversations with residents professionally and empathetically.
  • Work collaboratively with partners to resolve issues and overcome barriers to delivery.
  • Support residents throughout their journey and respond to queries and concerns.
  • Lead and support stakeholder meetings, communications and engagement activity.
  • Build consensus and maintain positive relationships across a complex partnership environment.

What you'll need to succeed

Essential experience

  • Strong public sector experience.
  • Housing association, local authority, resident engagement or community engagement experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of stakeholder and relationship management.
  • Experience dealing confidently and sensitively with challenging stakeholders or members of the public.
  • Strong partnership-working skills, with the ability to build trust and bring different parties together.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Calm, approachable and solutions-focused style.

You do not need to be an energy-efficiency or retrofit specialist. The priority is strong public sector engagement experience and the ability to build effective relationships with partners and residents.

Desirable

  • Experience within housing, regeneration, community programmes or resident services.
  • Previous work with local authorities, housing associations or similar public sector organisations.
  • Exposure to retrofit, fuel poverty, sustainability or energy-efficiency programmes would be beneficial but is not essential.
