School Receptionist - Part time
Hays Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Wigan to recruit a friendly and organised School Receptionist for an ongoing temporary position starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator or receptionist who enjoys working in a busy school environment and providing a professional first point of contact for pupils, parents, visitors and staff.
The Role
As the School Receptionist, you will be responsible for:
- Managing the school's reception area and welcoming visitors
- Answering and directing telephone calls and handling enquiries
- Signing visitors in and out in line with safeguarding procedures
- Supporting with general administrative duties including filing, email management and data entry
- Assisting with attendance and pupil records where required
- Providing excellent customer service to parents, staff and external agencies
- Supporting the wider school office team with day-to-day administration
What You'll Need
- Previous reception or administrative experience
- School-based experience is desirable but not essential
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A professional, friendly and approachable manner
- Strong IT skills and the ability to learn school systems quickly
- The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
