Your new company Your new company is an established London Market insurance organisation with a strong presence across the Lloyd's and specialty insurance market. Due to continued development within its reinsurance function, they are looking to appoint a Reinsurance Technician to join their London-based team.The business offers a collaborative working environment, hybrid working and the opportunity to gain broad exposure across a range of reinsurance programmes and classes of business.
Your tasks
Your new role As a Reinsurance Technician, you will support the effective administration of the company's outwards reinsurance arrangements, working closely with colleagues across Claims, Underwriting, Finance and Actuarial as well as external brokers and reinsurers.
You will be responsible for processing reinsurance contracts, premiums, endorsements and debit and credit notes, alongside supporting the collection and reconciliation of reinsurance recoveries. You will liaise with brokers and reinsurers regarding outstanding balances and recoveries, maintain accurate information within internal systems and support credit control activity.
You will also assist with month-end and quarter-end processes, produce regular MI and reports covering claims and recoveries, maintain reinsurer information and security ratings, and ensure new reinsurance contracts are accurately recorded within internal systems.
Requirements
What you'll need to succeed You will have previous experience within the London Insurance Market, ideally gained within an outwards reinsurance, reinsurance recoveries or technical processing environment.
You will have experience processing reinsurance contracts and recoveries, with a good understanding of different reinsurance contract structures. Previous exposure to credit control or collections would also be beneficial.
You will possess strong numerical and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage your own workload effectively. Experience using specialist reinsurance systems alongside good Microsoft Excel skills would be advantageous.
