A nurturing and inclusive school in Ashington is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Primary SEN Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term temporary basis with an immediate start. The Role

• Deliver engaging, tailored lessons to primary-aged pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs
• Create a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment
• Develop and implement individualised learning strategies to meet pupils' specific needs
• Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, parents and external agencies
• Monitor, assess and track pupil progress, adapting approaches where necessary
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and pupil engagement

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience working with pupils with SEND, either within a mainstream or specialist setting
• Strong understanding of a range of learning needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties
• Excellent classroom management and behaviour support skills
• Patient, resilient and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Essential Requirements

• Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service
• Right to work in the UK
• Recent and relevant teaching references
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
