Mechanical Project Manager - Water

My client is a leading organisation delivering major water infrastructure and treatment projects across the South of England. Due to continued investment across the water sector, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead the delivery of a significant treatment works project. The role will involve managing mechanical installation, commissioning and handover activities while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and programme performance.

Your New Role

As Mechanical Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical works on a live water treatment site alongside the Project Director and Construction Manager.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing mechanical installation and commissioning activities from inception through to completion.
• Overseeing programme, cost, quality and risk management.
• Managing design coordination, technical queries and interface issues.
• Reviewing and approving RAMS, ITPs and project documentation.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Working closely with client representatives and internal stakeholders.
• Managing testing, commissioning, handover and close-out activities.
• Reporting project progress, risks and opportunities to senior leadership.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering mechanical or MEICA works within the UK water sector.
• Strong understanding of water or wastewater treatment processes.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial management principles.
• CSCS qualifications.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage projects through construction, commissioning and handover.
