Your new company You will be joining a well-established organisation within a specialist Legal Affairs function. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified legal professional to work across a varied portfolio of legal, regulatory and policy matters.

Your tasks

Your new role As Legal Advisor, you will provide legal advice and assistance across a broad range of areas including public law, competition law, company law, energy law, water law, environmental law and dispute resolution. The role will also involve policy work across areas with a quasi-legal focus, including sustainability and environmental matters, financial penalties and enforcement, competition issues, Freedom of Information, data protection, complaints, disputes and appeals processes. Alongside advisory and policy responsibilities, you will undertake routine legal administration on behalf of the Legal Affairs Department.

Requirements

What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this position, you will need:

• To be a qualified solicitor or barrister, qualified to practise in Northern Ireland or England and Wales, with post-qualification experience
• A valid practising certificate issued by the appropriate regulatory authority, or the ability to hold one at the date of appointment
• Proven experience within public/administrative law, energy/regulatory law, energy, regulation or commercial law, including Judicial Review
• Alternatively, relevant experience within an adjacent legal field where its relevance to the role can be demonstrated
• Knowledge or experience of European Union law or commercial law

What we offer

What you'll get in return

• £24.75 per hour
• Temporary role, 6 months with possible extension
• 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
